Callie's Story

Calli came to us from a local shelter where she was found as a stray. We believe she had owners at one time as she is house-broken and knows some basic commands.
Her fosters will tell you that she is very sweet, a little funny, and just loves to hang out with her humans. She does shed as she has a bit of an undercoat, however with good brushing, it's markedly reduced.
She does do well with other pups so another pup in the home would be great. Having a fenced back yard so she can run and do her zoomies would be amazing, but if you don't have, but are active and like to walk with your pup, she's your gal. She is fully vaccinated. She did test positive for heartworms however her X-rays looked good and she is currently in the process of completing her treatments. Our vets don't anticipate any long term issues. Rescue covers all her expenses for treatment and her follow up heartworm filter recheck that's done 30 days after her final treatment. She will be a foster to adopt until 48 hours after her last treatment (which is scheduled for 2/13. As noted above, we still cover the cost of a heartworm recheck after 30 days to assure she converted.
**due to foster to adopt (depending on whether she's not completed with her vet care) will be in New Hanover and surrounding counties only. IF fully done, then NC only adoption

Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue NC, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
All fosters and adopters are screened to include a vet check and home check prior to placing any pup. We often have pre-adoption events where potential adopters can meet the pups. IF they find a pup they are interested in, an application is completed along with the checks noted above. We bring the pup over and help with any meet and greets as needed, along with supplies for a week as we offer a one week trial prior to needing to commit. IF the pup is not ready yet (e.g. more vaccines, altering, etc) the pup can go as a foster to adopt during which time that pup is still under our ownership until all has been completed.
