Calista's Story

Meet Calista!

Calista is a young Malinois mix who is eager to become the best dog you've ever met! This sweet, energetic girl has so much potential and is ready for someone who will help her learn, grow, and experience all the exciting things life has to offer.

Kennel life is difficult for Calista, and she can become very excited when people come to visit her. She tends to come on a little strong because she is simply so happy to see people! Once she's out of the kennel and enjoying a Doggie Day Out, you get to see a much better picture of who Calista really is. She loves getting out, exploring, and experiencing the world.

Calista does well with other dogs and is continuing to learn important skills, including slowing down and taking her time while eating her breakfast and dinner.

Because Calista is still learning how to relax and greet people appropriately, she would do best in a home without small children. Older, dog-savvy children who understand how to interact with and handle an energetic dog may be a good fit. Calista is not suitable for a home with small animals.

Calista is looking for a patient, active person or family who will give her the structure, guidance, exercise, and positive experiences she needs to thrive. With the right person by her side, this enthusiastic girl has every opportunity to blossom into an amazing companion.

Calista's ideal home:

A family willing to continue her training and help her learn to settle

An active home that can give her plenty of exercise and enrichment

A home where she can have appropriate doggy friends

Older, dog-savvy children may be okay

No small children

No small animals

Someone patient and willing to give her time to become the wonderful dog she wants to be
