Cali's Story

Talk about sweetheart!

Cali is a 6 year old female who came in as an owner surrender on 7-11-26.
Cali is housebroken, and is non destructive when being left home alone.
She knows sit, down, stay, come and "biscuits" (which also means come in her mind) and her birthday is 07-30-2020.
She loves to play fetch with balls and sticks and knows how to pull you around on a skateboard!
Cali previously lived with another dog and while they generally got along, per her previous owner she can be bossy and can get protective of her food, bed and toys with another dog sometimes (not with people). A one dog home or a structured home where toys are picked up and they are fed separately might be best for her going forward. She loves to play with other dogs here at the shelter and she also did very well meeting children the other day. She also seems to be accepting of cats.
She is very sweet and all she wants to do is snuggle.

Montgomery County SPCA's Adoption Policy
At the Montgomery County SPCA, we are dedicated to finding responsible, forever homes for all the pets in our care. To that end, we have created a thorough adoption process which helps us achieve this goal. This process includes a check of veterinary history records on any pets you currently have, and a home visit. If you rent your home, we require written proof (letter or lease) from your landlord that you are allowed to have pets. We undertake this kind of thorough review to ensure that animals who have already been discarded at least once will never have to experience this again.
