ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS — <br/><br/>CALI<br/>4-year-old-Chi/Pit Bull Terrier Mix Approx. 40 lbs<br/><br/>Cali arrived at the shelter with her 3-year-old son Paco after being surrendered due to a move. While clearly nervous and overwhelmed by all the sudden changes around her, Cali came in trying desperately to make friends anyway.<br/><br/>She is an outgoing, affectionate girl with nonstop please love me energy packed into one sturdy little lowrider body. Even while trying to process her own fear and uncertainty, Cali constantly checked back in to make sure Paco was okay too.<br/><br/>Cali loves affection, attention, reassurance, and being close to her people. She is the kind of dog who wants to crawl directly into your lap while also making sure everyone else around her feels safe too.<br/><br/>Both dogs previously lived with small children and appear to be housebroken, which shows in how tidy Cali keeps her kennel. Leash walking still seems somewhat unfamiliar or uncomfortable in the shelter environment, so she currently enjoys spending more time decompressing and playing in the yard.<br/><br/>Cali tested positive for Lyme disease and Ehrlichia and is currently receiving treatment.<br/><br/>We would truly love to see Cali remain with her son Paco if possible, as the two are extremely bonded and she clearly acts as his emotional anchor.<br/><br/>We are still learning more about how Cali feels about other dogs. Interest has been shown, but proper introductions would be important.
