Cali's Story

Meet Cali, a golden-hearted senior with a youthful spark who’s ready to find her perfect retirement home 💛

At 11 years young, this McNab mix is proof that age is just a number—most people are surprised to learn she’s a senior! Cali still has a little spunk in her step and absolutely shines when she’s around people. She’s spent her life as a beloved family companion and transitions easily into new friendships, greeting everyone with a warm and easygoing nature.

Cali’s journey to the Butte Humane Society came after her previous family fell on hard times and could no longer provide the care she deserves. Despite the change, Cali has remained resilient, affectionate, and ready to start her next chapter.

She’s a well-rounded companion who has experience living with children (ages 8–18) and has done wonderfully. She’s also previously lived with cats and did well—she may do best with slow introductions to any new feline friends. Cali generally gets along with other dogs, making her a great candidate for a multi-pet home with proper introductions.

In her previous home, Cali was comfortable spending time relaxing in the backyard and could be left alone for up to 8 hours without issue. She’s low-maintenance, easygoing, and happiest when she has a cozy place to rest and someone to share her days with.

Now, Cali is looking for a calm, loving home where she can enjoy her golden years—think soft couches, sunny spots, and leisurely strolls around the neighborhood. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion who still has a little pep in her step, Cali might just be your perfect match.

Come meet Cali and see for yourself—sometimes the best companions are the ones who already know how to love ❤️
