Cali's Story

Hi! I'm Cali — professional greeter, enthusiastic explorer, and full-time happy girl looking for my person.

I absolutely love people. Truly. If you exist, I would like to meet you, say hello, and probably lean in for some affection. I'm a young pup with a big heart and even bigger enthusiasm for life. I didn't get all the right socialization and exposure when I was younger, so I'm still learning how to navigate the world calmly — but I'm trying really hard and making great progress!

The good news? I've already got my training basics down! I know sit, down, stay, heel, and my recall is excellent. I love learning, love working with my people, and I'm happiest when my brain and body are both busy. Toss a ball, go for an adventure, or practice training games with me and you'll see my best self shine.

I'm definitely a high-energy youngster. I start walks very excited (there's just SO much to see!), but once I get moving and can sniff and explore, I settle in nicely. I ride beautifully in the car — I mostly just lay down and enjoy the trip.

Now for my honest part: I have some big feelings about other dogs when I'm on leash. I can bark and lunge because I get overwhelmed and excited, and I'm a strong girl! I'm currently learning new collar skills and practicing walking in quieter environments so I can stay calm enough to learn better choices. I'm not aggressive — just enthusiastic and still figuring things out. With patience, consistency, and reward-based training, I know I can improve because I really want to do well.

I handle most grooming nicely, though I can be a little squirmy (holding still is hard when life is exciting!). I do tolerate brushing well.

My ideal home?
An active, dog-savvy person or family who understands that I'm a young dog still learning. I'll need continued positive training, structure, exercise, and mental stimulation. A yard to play in would make me very happy! Because I sometimes jump up and get overly excited, a home without young children would be best right now.

I'm a work in progress — but I'm also incredibly sweet, playful, affectionate, and ready to become an amazing companion for someone willing to guide me. I didn't get the attention and outlets I needed early on, and now I'm just waiting for someone to show me how wonderful life can be.

If you live near Santa Rosa, my training team will continue working with me at no cost to help set us up for success. If I move farther away, my people just ask that my future training stays kind, compassionate, and reward-based — because that's how I learn best.

What I really want is simple:
a person to adventure with, learn with, and love with.

Could that be you?
