Caico's Story
This is Caico, a nervous little guy from St. Lucia who needs a lot of patience, love, and a peaceful home to really shine. While he did well with the dogs in his previous home, he wasn't a huge fan of the new human babies and strangers that frequented the home, and both his owners and him agreed it was time to look for a better fit. He lived with a smaller and larger dog and did very well playing with them, though he should be fed in a separate room as he is protective of his dinner, likely from his time having to protect his keep on the streets. What we want to highlight is how his owners noted the way he went from excitedly playing with their senior dog, to being very gentle and supportive the moment she came back from hospitalization from a very intense medical episode; Caico is a very sensitive and attentive dog when it comes to emotions and matching the energy both humans and other dogs need.

Once he becomes attached to you with some treats and patience, Caico is a big fan of getting endless butt scratches while wrapping himself around your legs. He loves stuffed animals in particular, though he's fond of ripping them up and pulling out all their fluff. He is very sensitive to sudden changes and loud noises, and has poor depth perception due to only having one eye left, so he will do best in a home with older children and folks who have plenty of time to spend working with him to overcome his fears. Caico *really* needs a family who has the time, patience, resources, and knowledge to bring out the world's best pup hiding under that nervous exterior. If you have what this sweet guy needs, come pay him a visit at SPCA Cincinnati today!
