Caesar's Story
Come meet me during our events Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM - 4 PM at the Homeward Trails Manny Law Adoption Center, 11116 Fairfax Station Rd, Fairfax Station, VA.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail any questions to: adoptioncenter@homewardtrails.org

PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE:
http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/

ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Meet Caesar - The Dog Who Grew Up Waiting

Some dogs know what it's like to have a family.

Caesar doesn't.

He came to the shelter when he was just five months old-still a puppy, still learning about the world, still believing someone would come for him.

No one ever did.

Instead of growing up in a home, Caesar grew up behind kennel walls. While other puppies learned about couches, bedtime routines, playing in the backyard, and what it feels like to belong to someone, Caesar learned the rhythm of shelter life.

And somehow...he still loves people.

He still believes they're worth trusting.

He still gets excited to learn, to play, and to hear someone tell him he's a good boy.

Caesar is one of the smartest dogs you'll ever meet. He knows an impressive list of tricks, including come, sit, wait, touch, paw, sit pretty, spin, and even "bang bang!" He loves training, toys, splashing in the water, car rides, long walks, and just being with the people he loves.

After spending so much of his life in the shelter, Caesar can be a little overwhelmed by new experiences. He may need a patient adopter who understands that he'll require a proper decompression period to adjust to life in a home. But once he realizes he's safe, Caesar's true personality shines. He's goofy, affectionate, incredibly sweet, and the kind of dog who forms a deep bond with his people. He has spent years waiting for stability, once he finds it, we know he'll settle in and become the amazing companion we've always seen in him.

Every day, we watch Caesar wait.

Wait for volunteers.

Wait for walks.

Wait for someone to stop at his kennel.

Wait for the family he's never had.

He's no longer the tiny puppy who first arrived here. He's growing up, and our greatest fear is that he'll spend more birthdays waiting for a home instead of celebrating in one.

Caesar has done everything we've asked of him. He's learned. He's trusted. He's loved with his whole heart, even when life hasn't always been kind to him.

Now all he needs is someone to choose him.

Please don't let Caesar spend another day wondering what it feels like to truly belong.

No other dog matches Caesar's patience, heart, and unshakable spirit-and he deserves a life that finally reflects that.

ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 65 lbs

KNOWN WITH DOGS: Caesar would do best as the only pet.

KNOWN WITH CATS: Caesar would prefer a home without cats.

KNOWN WITH KIDS: Caesar would do best with kids 14+

KNOWN CUES: Sit, Down, Shake, Touch, Spin, Stay, Come, Place, Middle, Drop It, and is learning "Give Kiss" and "Sit Pretty."

KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Caesar seems to do okay going into a crate and settling down after some time. He does get excited when he can see things happening outside his crate.

KNOWN LIKES: Stuffed toys, treats, attention, playing in the water.

KNOWN DISLIKES: People sneaking up on him unexpectedly.

ADOPTION FEE: WAIVED! I'M PART OF THE REWARDS PROGRAM AND MY ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED. WE WILL ALSO PAY MY FOSTER OR ADOPTER $500.

HT has a number of dogs that need very special homes. These dogs have been failed by humans along the way, leaving them homeless and with issues from their treatment. We'll be honest. Some of them are real jerks. But not always. And not to everyone. Not everyone can be charming ALL the time, right? Others are just fearful and don't like other animals because they have had a bad interaction at some point. Some of them love other dogs but are just plain scared of everything. But all of them are good on the inside. And we believe that ALL of them deserve a chance at life and love. And we're looking to find the right human out there to make that happen. But competition is tough. And they're up against small, well-behaved doggies...so we are offering incentives for special humans willing to give these pooches a chance. WE WANT YOU!

***We are paying $500 to any approved foster or adopter of our REWARDS dogs.***

The human will also get ongoing training support, all supplies covered and a $25 Amazon gift card each month for 6 months. You will learn and grow. You will be doing a world of good for a dog who has really had it rough in life.

----------
HT ADOPTION INCLUSIONS:
-Spay/Neuter
-First 3 distemper series vaccines and dewormings
-Rabies vaccine* age appropriate at time of adoption
-Microchip - lifetime with no registration fees
-Current on heartworm preventative
-Current on flea/tick preventative
----
EXCLUSIVE HTAR ADOPTER BENEFITS:
-$15 off your first chewy order of $49.00 or more
-Exclusive pet insurance offers
- $250 coverage at any VCA Hospital in the country
-COMPLIMENTARY FIRST EXAMS at 10 DC-Area veterinarians
- Free year-round dog training
- KEEP YOUR PET SAFE: Homeward Trails is proud to offer PetLink GPS trackers that will allow you to know where your pet is in real time.**Exclusive for HT Adopters (does not include subscription plan): $50 Check it out here: https://landing.petlink.net/gps-dog-tracker
-A portion of EVERY ADOPTION FEE supports spay/neuter efforts in under resourced communities
-Free doggy day care offers
-EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNTS for Homeward Trails events and merchandise
-Win a $50 Amazon gift card
