Buzz Lightyear's Story

To infinity and beyond-meet Buzz Lightyear!

Or, as my foster mom likes to call me, Woody (I guess it's my brown and white coloring!). I'm a handsome 3-year-old longhaired dachshund with a stunning chocolate and cream/white piebald coat that will make you swoon.

Life has thrown me a few curveballs, but I'm a trooper. I'm currently on a medical and behavioral hold while my foster mom and the vet team work to get me feeling my best. Turns out, I have an issue with my trachea that could eventually lead to collapse. Running and too much excitement make me cough or choke, so for now, I'm sticking to leisurely walks and quiet moments. There's a potential surgery that might help, but first, I'd need an MRI to confirm everything.

Despite all that, I'm an unbelievably sweet boy who's learning the ropes of being the best version of myself. I've been thriving as an only dog and slowly getting better at socializing with others, thanks to my foster mom's patience and guidance.

Right now, I'm not quite ready to look for my forever home. My job is to focus on my health and continue learning how to navigate this big world. Thank you for cheering me on as I work toward a brighter future!
