Boy does Butterscotch have a story to tell.<br/><br/>It goes like this; A woman saw a group of men abusing a dog and approached them and took the dog. After having the dog a few days, she thought that someone must be looking for him and brought the dog to the New York Animal Care Centers,<br/><br/>No one was looking for him. He grew anxious at the shelter and his time was coming to an end and needed a savior. We were contacted by the shelter that the original wanted to save him and work with a rescue. However that was very shortlived, because she could not commit to a dog with her living situation and schedule.<br/><br/>So we found a family that would foster him and take care of him until a forever family came along and that is exactly what he's looking for today!<br/><br/>These are Butterscotch's STATS<br/>Approximate age – 2.5 Years Old<br/>Approximate weight – 50-60 lbs.<br/>Breed – American Pitbull Terrier<br/>Spayed or neutered - Neutered<br/>Kids: We would say older kids due to his size<br/>• Age: 2.5 Years<br/>• Breed: American Pitbull Terrier<br/>• Personality:<br/>- Resilient, lovable, and full of personality <br/>- Friendly and very affectionate<br/>- Treat-motivated and eager to learn <br/>- Forms strong bonds quickly, loves being by your side<br/>• Activity Level:<br/>- Loves walks, exploring, and playing with toys <br/>- Active and loves to run and do zoomies<br/>- Keeps the yard free of critters<br/><br/>• Training &; Behavior:<br/>- House and crate trained <br/>- Learning basic manners, can be jumpy and mouthy when excited <br/>- Walks well on leash but with a strong prey drive, will pull when seeing wildlife <br/>- Needs patience and guidance to continue improving<br/>- Needs stern training to have him acclimate to whatever environment they’re<br/>exposed to<br/>- Constantly needs/wants affection<br/>- Does relax and lay around when the family is relaxing, gets hype when going<br/>outside to walk and play<br/>- Does get chatty if things don’t go his way or excited when other dogs are around<br/><br/>• Dog Compatibility:<br/>- Did well with other dogs in the shelter <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>- Needs slow introductions and may require multiple meet &amp; greets <br/><br/>• Other Requirements:<br/>- A fenced yard is a must due to his high prey drive and energy level<br/>- Needs Walks at least 3 times a day<br/>- Needs a patient, experienced family or experienced person(s)<br/>• Health &amp; Adoption Info:<br/>- Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative <br/>- Adoption fee: $400
