Butternut's Story

My name is Butternut, but my foster family calls me Darla..

I am a sweet cuddly girl, who has been absolutely loving life with her foster family - and ready to find a furever family of her very own.

I am a smart cookie - fully housetrained and crate trained, I sleep through the night with no accidents and am already Miss Manners. I LOVE food and will sit, stay and wait for my meals until I hear the word, "OK"!

I LOVE other dogs and would be absolutely thrilled to have a playmate/sibling, but would also love soaking up ALL the love and attention for myself. I have lived with cats, been around the little hoomans and get along with both.

I have been spending the summer at the lake and love the lake life! Some of my favourite things about the lake are hanging out on the dock, golf cart rides, floating on the water and being wherever my foster family is. I have a lot of fun, goofy puppy energy, but can also settle, relax and another favourite pastime is cuddling!

Like any puppy my age, I'm going through a bit of a mouthy/chewing stage, so having lots of appropriate things to chew keeps me happy! My foster mom says I'm such a good girl, as I have never chewed anything in the house that I shouldn't!

My foster family describes me as affectionate, smart, social and an all-around lovely companion, even if I may be scared of the dark!

I am patiently waiting for a furever family looking for new experiences, adventures and plenty of snuggles. Could it be you?

Pause4Change's Adoption Policy
Due to integration issues, there are some pets with incorrect statues or are missing from Petfinder. Please visit our website for the most up to date information. We first do an online application through our website, then if we think the application aligns with our mission we do a phone screening, from here if they still seem like a good fit we do an initial meet and greet with the foster home, if that goes well the animal then goes for a home visit for the day where the foster home gets to go see the house and make sure there are no concerns. From there the adoption will proceed. If the dog / cat is not spayed yet they will go into foster to adopt until the surgery is performed.
