Buttercup's Story

Meet Buttercup!
Buttercup is a curious, energetic guy who loves checking out everything around him. He'll happily wander around sniffing, rub his shoulder against furniture and his people, and is always ready to come say hello. He can be a little nervous when it comes to handling, but with patience and some encouragement, this sweet boy has plenty of room to blossom!

My Ideal Home
Buttercup is looking for an adult family who can give him a little time to settle in and show him the ropes. He'll be happiest with people who enjoy keeping him busy with walks, food puzzles, long lasting chews, and fun reward based training sessions.

Good with Other Pets?
Buttercup hasn't had a chance to tell us what he thinks of living with another dog, but he definitely gets excited when he sees them! During playgroups, he has been very eager to play and has repeatedly tried to mount his canine friends, so he'll need controlled introductions and socialization rather than trips to the dog park.

Good with Kids?
Buttercup would do best with grown ups who can understand his boundaries and let him take new things at his own pace. Because he can be fearful and has shown some resource guarding, we are recommending an adult only home for him.

Things to Know
Buttercup has some mild leash pulling and can get pretty enthusiastic when greeting people, which means his jumping skills could use a little polishing. He can also get tense around toys when someone reaches for them, so his new family should use positive, reward based training and give him space around things he considers valuable. Give this Buttercup some patience, structure, and plenty of things to do, and he'll have every chance to really bloom!
Primary Color: Gray Weight: 47.5lbs Age: 1yrs 1mths 1wks
