Buttercup's Story

Location: Alexandria, MN

Meet Buttercup!

Buttercup is a sweet, gentle pup who can be a little shy and reserved when meeting new people, but once she feels safe she becomes very loving and loyal to her people.

Buttercup has low-to-moderate energy and enjoys both playtime and cuddles. She loves playing fetch and will happily bring the ball back so you can throw it again. She's also extremely treat and food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. Belly rubs, snacks, and greeting her people when they come home are some of her favorite things.

She is good with other dogs, but can be reactive when she sees them from a distance and does best with slow introductions. Buttercup doesn't need another dog in the home, but a calm, friendly dog could help build her confidence.
Buttercup is afraid of men and will need a patient home that allows her time to warm up. Because she isn't familiar with toddlers, she would do best with older children. She sleeps well in her crate at night and learned potty training quickly, though she has had a small regression and will benefit from continued routine.

Buttercup cannot live with cats.

She's a very sweet, cuddly girl who has clearly had a difficult past and just needs a patient family who will give her the love and security she deserves.
