Butter Pecan

Sweet, but very shy, Butter Pecan is a 35lb, 7 yr old, spayed lab mix who was flown up from Puerto Rico around five years ago. Building trust with Butters is a slow, but rewarding process. During her time at the shelter, she's grown more and more comfortable with our volunteers and staff to the point where she's begun to accept affection and gets excited when she notices us arrive, so we're confident that while it will be a long process of working with her, she has the capacity to be a very loving dog. She thrives with canine company! When she's out in the yard with her best buddies Mike and Michael, she'll join right in when the two of them are getting pet and acts far more comfortable with their more confident personalities to bounce off of. She's a lady with simple tastes who enjoys her treats and a good walk with a person she trusts.
