Butter Lou is an 8 year old, about 50ish lb, beautiful female Golden / Labrador Retriever who has been through a lot — but you'd never know it from her sweet, shining spirit. When she first came to us, her back legs were badly injured and carefully wrapped in dressings. She's been such a trooper through her treatments and bandage changes, and she's making steady progress every day. Her resilience and gentle heart are an inspiration to everyone who meets her.<br/>She's currently healing well and just finished her antibiotics for her wounds. She's also recovering from a touch of kennel cough, but it hasn't slowed her down one bit — her tail still wags nonstop.<br/>When it comes to personality, she's as kind and loving as they come. She's never shown an ounce of aggression — just endless sweetness. She adores people, gets along beautifully with other dogs (especially her buddy Roscoe), and is wonderfully respectful of cats — even the sassy ones! She's also gentle with children and lights up whenever she sees them.<br/>Her only “quirk” is that she loves being near her humans. She's happiest when she has company — whether that's snuggling on the bed, lounging with her dog and cat friends, or just being in the same room as someone she loves.
