Butter's Story
Butter is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves being close to her people. With her calm, easygoing personality, she's happiest relaxing by your side or spending time with the family. She enjoys short daily walks, loves car rides, and is easy to groom, making her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, laid-back dog.

Butter is looking for an adopter who can also provide her with a little extra care. She currently has an aural hematoma (a swelling of the ear flap) that will require follow-up veterinary care after adoption to ensure it heals properly. Her new family should be prepared to continue any recommended treatment and attend follow-up appointments as directed by their veterinarian.

If you're looking for a loving companion and are willing to help Butter through her recovery, she'll reward you with plenty of affection and loyal companionship.

My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Butter was so easy. She was slightly reserved at first but I didn't force anything and before you knew it, we were buddies. She loves to give kisses and lean against you. On walks, she has little to no pulling and was mostly interested in sniffing. She had zero reactivity to anything and appears friendly with other dogs given her body language when passing them (she mostly ignored them but did have a friendly soft body with some). She lit up and wagged her tail when kids walked by. At Petco, she really opened up and loved getting pets/attention from fellow shoppers and employees. Even though she's mellow on walks, she seems like she can go for a while and would make a great hiking buddy. She gets excited in the car because she's happy to be there knowing she's going on an adventure. We were in a pretty quiet area of Staten Island but she seems like she would fine in busy city neighborhoods too given she was unbothered by most things. She easily did her potty business outside in the park. Anyone would be lucky to adopt Butter! My only wish on the borough break was that I could have kept her out longer!
