PUPDATE 10.6.26<br/><br/>Hi. I’m Butchie.<br/><br/>I’m a four-year-old fawn Boxer who spent all four of those years outside. No people. No house. Just weather and whatever I could figure out on my own. So indoor life is still new. Stairs I can do. A doggy door I can do. Being left alone in a crate I cannot do—yet. If you’re in the room, the crate is fine. If you walk away, I fall apart. We’re working on it.<br/><br/>I’m sweet. I’m also still learning that humans are safe. I come when my foster mom calls. I’m slower to trust the other humans in the house. I walk nicely on a leash. I get along great with my 30-pound foster brother and I don’t care about the cat. Food is not a problem. Toys are. I get possessive, and I mean it.<br/><br/>I have heartworms. I’m in treatment and I will recover. I’m also learning potty training like a much younger dog because nobody ever taught me.<br/><br/>I do best in an adult home. Kids move fast, grab things, and make a lot of noise. I’m still too timid, and too serious about my toys, for that to be fair to anyone.<br/><br/>I’m not looking for a perfect home. I’m looking for a quiet, patient one. Someone who will keep working the crate, manage the toys, and give me time to believe the inside of a house can actually be mine.<br/><br/>I’m not broken. I’m just late to the game.<br/><br/>If you’ve got a calm adult household and room for a Boxer who’s still learning how to be a house dog, I’m ready to try.
