Buster's Story

‼️COURTESY POST‼️‼️

“Hi, my name is Buster!

I’m a purebred white boxer with one blue eye and one brown eye — people tell me I’m pretty unforgettable. I will turn 3 on Valentine’s Day!

I’m a total goofball with a big personality. Sometimes I think I’m basically a human… until I remember I’m actually a furry one. My family calls me a “big baby” because I sulk if I don’t get snacks, and I’m suspicious of vacuums, wheelchairs, and anything unfamiliar or “weird.” Once I trust you though, I’m incredibly loving and loyal.

I’m very athletic — strong, fast, and springy. I can jump high, zoom fast, and occasionally do some impressive mid-air moves. I love running, especially in cooler weather, and I’m slowly getting braver about swimming. After all that activity? I am excellent at napping and fully appreciate a comfy bed, couch, or… another couch.

I grew up with three young human sisters, a tuxedo cat (one of my favorite companions), a dog brother named Blue, and even some chickens. I love other animals, especially dogs and cats, but I can get a little too enthusiastic when chasing chickens — they zigzag, and it’s very exciting. For that reason, I’d do best in a home without small animals like poultry.

One of my best qualities is my recall — when I’m off leash, I stick close and don’t wander. I love running free in the woods with my people and staying connected.

On leash, I can be strong and excitable. I sometimes pull because I’m eager to move, and I may react to other dogs, especially certain breeds. With confident handling, structure, and continued training, this is very manageable — but I do need someone comfortable with a powerful, athletic dog.

The most important thing to know about me is that I become overstimulated around lots of young children. Loud noises, fast movements, and frequent handling can overwhelm me, and I do best when I have space and clear boundaries. Because of this, I am looking for an adult-only home or a home with older teens who understand when to give me space and respect my signals.

This isn’t because I’m a bad dog — I’m actually a very good one — I just need the right environment to feel calm, secure, and successful.

I’m hoping to find a loving person, couple, or family with experience, a sense of humor, and an active lifestyle who wants a loyal companion to run with, relax with, and love deeply.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about me.

Love,

Buster 🐾

P.S. Even though I’m strong and athletic, I take my sleep very seriously. Cozy living is important to me.”

‼️‼️ PLEASE EMAIL DAVID AT dforsyth10@gmail.com WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR IF INTERESTED IN BUSTER‼️‼️
