That is Busters story. For almost three years—1,000 long days—Buster has suffered from shelter life's ultimate double jeopardy: being a black dog and a pit bull mix. Buster has watched family after family walk past his kennel, passing over him simply because of these two unfair strikes against him.<br/>Its a heartbreaking truth in animal rescue, but people fail to see the sweet, loving dog underneath that exterior. However, Buster hasnt let it break his spirit. Underneath his striking black coat is a gentle, deeply affectionate, and resilient soul who wants nothing more than to be someones loyal best friend.<br/><br/>Why the Volunteers Absolutely Adore Him<br/>While potential adopters have passed him by, all the shelter volunteers who know him best absolutely love him. Buster is a well-behaved, eager-to-please boy who thrives on positive human connection.<br/><br/>A Dream on the Walk: Buster loves his daily walks and is great on the leash! He walks without reacting to other dogs along the trail—hes far more interested in taking in the sights and sharing a happy walk with his human handler.<br/><br/>Smart & Obedient: Buster already knows his basic commands! He knows sit and down, and he will even offer you his paw (shakes!) whenever you ask "give me paw." He is always eager to please and works hard to make you happy.<br/><br/>Resilient & Heartfelt: Despite three long years in a shelter environment, Buster remains sweet, affectionate, and trusting. He is more than ready to swap a cold kennel for a soft bed and a loving home.<br/><br/>Fosters & Adopters Needed!<br/>Rescue Without Borders is looking to pull Buster into our care, but we cannot do so without committed fosters or adopters. <br/>Three years in a shelter is way too long.
