Bush's Story

Meet Bush
2.5 Months Old | Male | Terrier Mix | ~10 lbs

Yes... his name is Bush. And yes... it's a little silly. But one look into those soulful eyes and you'll forget all about the name and start wondering how you're supposed to leave without him.

Bush is the kind of puppy who was made for cuddles. This tiny little guy's favorite place in the world is wherever YOU are—especially if that means being held. He is happiest curled up on your chest, tucked onto your shoulder, or snoozing in your arms for as long as you'll let him.

He's a gentle, submissive little sweetheart who happily shares his food and toys and doesn't have a pushy bone in his body. His foster family says he's incredibly loving and easygoing. He's currently working hard on potty training and doing great using his puppy pads. Since he's still so tiny, he isn't quite ready for big backyard adventures yet, and his current canine foster siblings are a little too rough for his tiny frame.

Bush also has a hilarious soft side—despite getting along with just about everyone, he is absolutely convinced the cat in his foster home is terrifying. (No offense to cats... but Bush would prefer to admire them from a respectful distance.)

This sweet boy recently had an allergic reaction to fleas and is currently getting medicated baths twice a week while his hair grows back in. Through it all, his spirit hasn't changed one bit. He still gives endless love, endless snuggles, and acts like every day is the best day ever.

Bush may be small, but he has a huge heart and is ready to find a forever family that will spoil him with cuddles, cozy naps, and all the love he so freely gives.

Warning: picking him up “just for a minute” may result in accidentally adopting him.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website and complete an adoption application at www.elpasocountycanine.org/adopt

Please bear with us as we process applications! We are working on changing our processes to function during the COVID-19 outbreak. We have had a big increase in people wanting to adopt (yay!) so it's taking us a bit of time to get through the applications. We work on a first-come, first-serve basis. You must apply for adoption before you will be able to meet with a pup. If you meet with a dog and decide to adopt, we can process your adoption right then and you can go home with your new family member! Thank you for adopting from us and saving our sweet dogs!
