Burger's Story

Burger: Loyal companion looking for his person.

Burger is a 6-year-old catahoula/pit mix with a big heart, an expressive face, and a talent for making people smile. He's the kind of dog who loves being part of the family but doesn't need constant entertainment. Whether you're hanging out at home, going on a car ride, relaxing on the couch, or heading out for a walk, Burger is happy to be along for the ride. What his foster loves most about him is how easy he is to live with. Burger is house-trained, settles nicely at home, and is just as content relaxing in his favorite spot as he is joining you on a walk. He loves to dress up and pose for pics.

What makes Burger special?
House-trained and well-mannered indoors
Loves people and kids
Affectionate without being needy
Happy to relax and entertain himself
Enjoys chasing balls, walks, sniffing, and exploring
Has hilarious facial expressions and unforgettable eyes
Forms deep, loyal bonds with his people

Burger's ideal home
After spending time getting to know Burger, we've learned that his happiest and most successful home will be one where he is the only pet. He loves having his people all to himself and truly thrives as the center of attention. Burger also has a strong prey drive, particularly around wildlife like deer, so he's looking for an adopter who is comfortable handling a strong dog on leash and understands basic management around distractions. For the right owner, this is simply part of knowing and loving Burger. His training has helped lots.

Who is Burger looking for?
A single-pet household
Someone looking for a loyal companion rather than a dog-park socialite
A person, couple, or family who appreciates a steady, affectionate dog
Someone who wants a best friend for the years ahead

Burger isn't the right dog for everyone. But for the right person, he could be exactly the dog you've been looking for. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will happily share your walks, your routine, and your life, Burger would love to meet you.

We require an adoption application be filled out so we can judge your ability to care for dogs with special needs. All of our dogs are fixed and have up to date shots. Most of our dogs are microchipped. We adopt family dogs that are going to be indoor. Sometimes we will get dogs that can be trained to become work dogs but that isn't our mission.
