Meet Bumpkin, a 1-year-old Terrier mix who was surrendered by her previous owner through no fault of her own. <br/>Bumpkin is a shy and timid girl, still adjusting to new places and people. However, with patience and persistence, she warms up and becomes a loyal companion. She absolutely loves belly rubs and will adore anyone who gives them! Bumpkin is still learning to walk confidently on a leash; she sometimes gets nervous, hunkers down, and needs gentle encouragement to keep going. She is eager to please and, with lots of love, patience, and training, has the potential to become her best self. Friendly and happy at heart, Bumpkin is ready to meet you—just give her some belly rubs, and you'll have a friend for life!<br/><br/>Interested in adopting? You must fill out an adoption application and be approved before visiting with puppies aged 4 months old and younger.<br/>Applying for Adoption:<br/>Fill out an adoption application in person at the shelter during adoption hours. We do not offer adoption applications online. If you live at a distance (1-1/2+ hour away), you can call us at 724-539-2544 to complete an adoption application by phone. Calls are returned within 48 hours.<br/>Bring the following pertinent documents with you:<br/>Pet Owners: Vet records of all your current pets.<br/>Homeowners: Proof of home ownership – a property tax or mortgage document. Utility bills are not accepted.<br/>Renters: Landlord’s phone number and copy of your lease. We must speak to your landlord to be considered for adoption.<br/>Valid ID: You must be 21 years or older.<br/>Dog Owners:<br/>If you currently have dogs at your home, we require a meet and greet with the shelter dog you are interested in.
