Action For Animals Humane Society was founded in 1983 to shelter and provide care for abused, abandoned and stray dogs and cats of Westmoreland County. We adopt animals into responsible homes and vigorously promote the spaying and neutering of all pets to eliminate the cruelty of animal overpopulation. We are a non-profit, non-government funded, no-kill shelter that keeps animals free from the threat of unwarranted euthanasia.
Adoptions are by appointment with pre-approved applications only. Call the shelter at 724-539-2544 and leave a voicemail with your name, number and animal you’re interested in. Calls are returned in the order they are received. We try our best to return calls within 48 hours, but please be patient as we receive numerous calls with a limited staff.
