Bug's Story

She has a way of making you laugh every single day, whether its a funny look, the way she greets you, a sudden burst of excitement, or one of her little quirks that you havent seen before. Life with Bug is definitely full of character, and she has a wonderful way of making ordinary moments entertaining.

Bug loves being the centre of attention and being involved in whatever her people are doing. She will happily follow you around like a little shadow and wants to be part of your day. She thrives on quality time and really enjoys having a close bond with her person.

Swimming, hiking, exploring new places, and playing with all kinds of toys are some of Bugs favourite things. She is a very active, high energy girl and definitely needs an outlet for all that energy. She will never be shy about letting you know when she is ready to play. In fact, Bug is so smart and communicative that she will often bring you a toy and practically show you what she wants to play and how she wants you to play with her.

Bug is a quick learner and already knows several commands and skills, including sit, down, catching treats, and jumping on cue. She is kennel trained and comfortably sleeps in her kennel at night. She enjoys learning, interacting with her people, and having something to keep both her mind and body busy.

When out on walks, Bug is generally very friendly with the dogs she meets and is usually happy to say hello.

Bug does have some strong herding tendencies and can be protective of the people and resources she values. At home, she may guard things such as her food bowl, kennel, or her person. She benefits from clear boundaries, consistency, and continued guidance around these behaviours. A home without cats or young children would be the best fit for Bug.

Busy city environments, heavy traffic, and lots of activity can sometimes be overstimulating for Bug, so she would likely be happiest living in a quieter, calmer neighbourhood where she can enjoy her walks and outdoor time without constantly being surrounded by city stimulation.

For an adoption application: https://straightouttarescuesociety.ca/dog-adoption-application
