Bug's Story

Meet Bug, a very handsome young man with a story we may never fully know. Born around 5/16/2025, Bug came from an abusive home, and while we don't know what led to the loss of his front leg, one thing is certain: being a tripod doesn't slow him down one bit. Bug is currently in a foster home and is making tons of progress! Bug is still learning that people can be kind. He needs time, patience, and a calm home where he can build trust and regain his confidence at his own pace. Sudden movements or standing up too quickly can still startle him, so he'll need a family that understands he is still learning to feel safe. Once he lets his guard down, he is incredibly cuddly and playful. He absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a friendly canine companion who can help show him how to just be a dog again. A fenced yard would be ideal, so he has a safe place to run, play, and explore--which is perfect, as his leash manners are still a work in progress! Bug has already survived hard things. Now he's looking for the soft landing he deserves. If you'd like to meet Bug, fill out an application at https://rescuerehabrehome.org/dog-adoption-applicationRescue Rehab Rehome does not adopt animals outside the state of Iowa.
