Buddy (MD GAP)'s Story

This dog's fosterhome is located in: BALTIMORE, MD

Seniors for Seniors Candidate

Hello, my name is Buddy. I'm about 13 years old, weigh around 16 pounds, and currently still reside with my owner in Maryland. My owner provided me with a very loving home for 6 years, bud sadly she has become ill and can no longer care for me; she is 93 years old and has Alzheimer's disease. I'm going to be sad to leave
her, but I know that she just cannot keep up with me anymore. I love to go outside for walks, or just hang out on the couch with my people. I also love to play fetch with my favorite squeaky, Green Bone. I'm sharing a house with two much bigger dogs, and don’t mind them at all. I'm quiet too - when people come to the door I do not bark at them. There are no cats where I live, so I’m not sure how I would react to one. I sleep in a comfy dog bed on the floor right next to my person's bed. And I'm also housebroken, great on a leash, and know basic commands. My eyes have begun to develop cataracts, which happens when some dogs - or people - age. So far it has had little effect on my ability to see and get around. Do not let my age fool you - I am still young at heart, and would be great for someone who wants a lap dog. Until I find my new home I'm staying with my current owner and the two family members that care for her. You can see more pictures of me here in my photo album:
http://imageevent.com/rattiemom/buddy.

Note: This is a Guardian Assistance Placement (GAP) Program dog, meaning he/she has been fortunate enough to remain in his/her current home while looking for a new home. Veterinary records have been verified, but we must rely on input from the owner for information on behavior and temperament.

Our adoption fee is $165 ($190 for puppies younger than 12 months and $215 for American Hairless Terriers).

Please go to our website to find information on the adoption process, to fill out an application, to see other available dogs or to become a volunteer:

www.ratbonerescues.com
