Buddy! Cute little best friend!

Hello everyone! My name is buddy! I am a 4 year old 10 pound shih tzu poodle mix. My previous owner fell terminally ill and she didn’t have much family, unfortunately that caused me to become very neglected. I was matted, covered in fleas so bad it’s the worst my groomer has ever seen. After 4 hours she still wasn’t able to get all of them off of me. She said my neglect case was horrendous and couldn’t believe I actually allowed her to do everything she needed to do. She said I was an amazing boy for her during the entire grooming process. When a family member to my owner, decided to pop in one day and saw my condition. She immediately contacted my rescue to get me out and ultimately save my life, had I’ve been left there. It was certain the fleas would have depleted me. I’ve been in my foster home for currently three going on four weeks and what my mom can tell you is that it took me two weeks to really start acting like I was a normal dog and starting to give tail wags and acting like I wanted to maybe play with a toy or play with another dog. She said she never crates me when she leaves because I’m so good, but she did say we are still working on the house training, but that I have excelled over the last few weeks. I am fostered with small dogs, big dogs, cats, and small kids, and while I can be a little bit shy at first, I actually am a very good sweet boy once I settle in. I can virtually go to any type of home that will just be patient for a few weeks while I learn my new routine and settle in.
