BUDDY - BR's Story

Poor Buddy had a rough start to the summer. His owner brought him into the local pet emergency clinic to be euthanize after he encountered a porcupine!

If it's dog vs porcupine, the porcupine usually walks away uninjured - not so for the dog! Buddy got a face and chest full of quills.

The clinic thought he was too nice of a dog to euthanize him. They removed all the quills they could see then called S.P.O.T. to see if we would take him in. Buddy had several more procedures throughout the summer in our care which seems to have taken care of the rest.

He spent most of the summer with us at the SPOT house. During all of his vet visits and multiple procedures, Buddy was a gentle, happy boy who greeted everyone as a new friend. All summer, everyone who met him commented on his sweet nature!

His foster has also been impressed with how easily and well he fit in with the home pack of large and small dogs. He is a bit of a cat chaser but he responds to a recall well.

Buddy would love to find a home where not too much is expected of him. Where he can curl up on a big dog bed, snoot around the yard a while, pal around with another low-key dog and possibly play gentle games with younger family members. He just wants to be the family pup to love and cuddle. What a guy!

Stats: 'Heinz 57' breed. Neutered male, treated for internal parasites, fleas and is vaccinated. He has a microchip which we register to his adopter. Age: 5 years. Weight: 55-60 lbs Adoption fee: $350.00 (cash or credit card)

If interested in BUDDY, please go to our website, www.savingpetsoneatatime.org [https://www.savingpetsoneatatime.org/dog-adoption-form] to submit a dog adoption application.

Our pets are shown by appointment if the application reflects the desired home.

Thank you for considering a recue pet!
