Dear Santa--My name is Buddy, and I would like a<br/>loving forever home this Christmas. I am a delightful<br/>3-year-old Maltese boy, and I have been a good boy my<br/>whole life. Even so, my former owner gave me up<br/>because she had a new baby on the way and no time for<br/>me. I grew up in a no-pets apartment building, and I<br/>spent too much time confined in the bathroom so I<br/>wouldn't bark and be discovered.<br/> This isolation really went against my nature because<br/>I am sociable, gregarious and playful. I love<br/>children, dogs and, even cats. Sometimes, in my<br/>enthusiasm, I bark at other dogs (and jump up on kids)<br/>to instigate play. My foster mom thinks this is a bad<br/>habit, so she is<br/>working on it with me and is happy to pass along some<br/>tips to my future adopter(s).<br/> I am housebroken to wee wee pads and to the<br/>outdoors, and I get wildly happy at the prospect of<br/>going for outdoor walks and do my trademark circle<br/>dance of joy. I am good on a leash but I like to walk<br/>at a brisk pace. I am a young, high-energy dog who requires<br/>lots of exercise, and I am better behaved at home when<br/>I get enough of it via walks, runs and/or rigorous games of<br/>fetch.<br/> Ideally, I would most like an owner who is home with<br/>me a lot of the time and who has another playful and<br/>energetic dog in the house, or kids more than 8 years<br/>old of the same description.
