Buddy's Story
This sweet boy is named Buddy. He's about a 1-year-old border collie / newfie / poodle mix. His people are in their '80s and were gifted him as a puppy about 10 months ago, but quickly realize that they were not equipped to care for a young energetic breed like Buddy. He is neutered and UTD. He is not had a bordetella vaccine or been heartworm tested, both of which we can get done before transfer. He plays well with other dogs, however he will chase cats. Not sure about any livestock, he's never been trained to do any herding. He has a beautiful soft coat. It looks a little shaggy right now cuz he's losing his winter undercoat. We can also get him groomed if that's something you guys need. He's very sweet and affectionate with people and would probably be great with kids as well, although he does still try to jump up sometimes might be too much for a really young child. He just needs someone with the patience and the time to teach him basic skills. Unfortunately, he's never been allowed in the house in the time they've had him, so whether or not his house broken is unknown. My hope is that he's like many rez dogs or other dogs that have never been allowed inside. Once they get indoors, it's so foreign to them, they don't want to mess it up. I wish you had not been raised outdoors, but there it is. The people were very casual about it. All he had all winter was a little metal dog house with a wooden floor. I can't imagine how that much nothing at all reflected the cold all winter long.

His owners are anxious to find him a place to go. NOW. They were hoping I could take him today but I could not. I have no place for him to go and an unnatural number of dogs at my house already, where peace and tranquility is hanging by a thread. I think Buddy has potential to be a really great all around dog, he just needs someone to pay attention to him, and teach him what is expected. And get him the exercise a young border collie mix needs.

If you're interested in learning more about Buddy, please get in touch with me and we will work on the next steps.

Debbie Davis
deborah.davisiii@gmail.com
720-271-9040 mobile

Lisa: "Do we have any food that wasn't brutally slaughtered?"
Homer: "Well, I think the veal died of loneliness."
~Matt Groening, The Simpsons

Earthlings - Make The Connection
http://www.nationearth.com/
