Buddy 's Story
Meet Buddy — a sweet, gentle 6-year-old, 24-lb Beagle mix with a tender heart and a quiet soul.

Buddy was rescued from a hoarding situation with over 30 other dogs, and he’s just beginning to learn what safety, comfort, and kindness feel like. Because of his past, Buddy is still fearful with new people and unfamiliar situations, but he has made great progress. He has not shown any aggression.

When Buddy first arrived in his foster home, his safe space was under the bed. He gradually started spending more time out from under the bed, starting with testing the waters by peeking out on occasion. Now his safe space is on the bed! He spends most of the day lounging, playing with his foster brother, or chewing on toys. He occasionally comes out to the living room to spend time with everyone else.

He gets along well with other dogs and cats and peacefully shares space with them. He is currently in a foster home with four other dogs. He loves to play with the younger dog and is respectful of the older dogs who like their space.

Buddy tolerates being held and petted and even seems to have learned that gentle touch can feel good and belly rubs are not bad!He is generally quiet and doesn’t bark much. At night, he chooses to sleep in his crate or a dog bed. He especially loves his “cave”, a special covered dog bed.

The outside world is still a bit overwhelming for Buddy and the the hustle and bustle of NYC are too much for him. For that reason, Buddy would do best in a quiet suburban home with a securely fenced yard. He loves the exploring the yard and watching the birds!
Buddy is a gentle, sensitive soul who doesn’t ask for much — just patience, understanding, and a calm environment where he can continue to build trust at his own pace. There is nothing “wrong” with Buddy; he was simply dealt a very hard hand. With the right home, his quiet love will continue to bloom.

If you have a peaceful home and a big heart for a dog who needs time and compassion, Buddy may be waiting just for you.

If you would like to adopt this dog, please visit email rescue@pupstarzrescue.org or visit www.pupstarzrescue.org for an application!

www.pupstarzrescue.org
Please Follow us on Instagram: @pupstarzrescue
Like us on FaceBook! www.facebook.com/PupStarzRescue

PupStarz rescue cannot guarantee the breed, size, temperament, or age of any dog.
