Buddy's Story

Meet Buddy, the dog that never gave up. Buddy was saved from a hoarding/neglect situation. Nobody ever cared enough to give him the attention he deserved. When he came to the shelter he was scared, skinny and ill. He has since been treated and recovered from illness, put on some much needed weight and made fast friends with other dogs at the shelter. While he absolutely loves to play with other dogs, he is still quiet and shy with people. He does have a stubborn streak when it comes to coming back inside. Sometimes I have to carry him back in. Now that he is healthy and fed, what he needs more than anything is a special family to show him what being loved feels like. Buddy is approximately one year old and 60 pounds.

Meigs County Dog Shelter's Adoption Policy
We want to make sure our adoptions are a forever home for the canines. The application for adoption is done in person, after spending time with the dog. Upon adoption, age appropriate, spay and neuter is a requirement with our local vet. Our staff is also available to help with questions and follow up after adoption. We want the adoption experience to be a positive one for both adopter and canine.
