He is a 5-year-old (DOB 07/28/2021), Australian Shepherd who is beautiful, amazing, and waiting for his leader!<br/><br/>***HERDING EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/ DUE TO PREY DRIVE NO SMALL DOGS, CATS, SMALL ANIMALS OR LIVESTOCK / ON APROQUEL AND NEXGARD FOR LIFE DUE TO SENSETIVE SKIN ISSUES***<br/><br/>Buddy is a smart and curious dog who needs a job! He will bond deeply to one person to look to for commands to fulfil his day. He is active, has a gentle mouth for treats, designed to herd, and is independent. He tends to be a quiet and tidy boy who is a fast learner. He has great recall, is a great walker, jogger, enjoys car rides, and yard play especially keep away fetch! His passion is ball play, while not so much a cuddle bug, he is looking to please with a ball reward.<br/><br/>Buddy is a great companion dog, and an active family would be his best fit preferably with large property setting. Originally Buddy was a Veteran's Companion Dog. Children are not recommended, as he has a very strong herding instinct. Dogs are new to Buddy, as he came to us unsocialized. He has come very far at AAP with positive reinforcement, treats, clear instructions, and consistency. Buddy has a prey drive, no livestock, small animals, small dogs, and cats are a definite no for this active fella. A secured fenced yard is required to keep him safe and happy.<br/><br/>If you have any other questions, email is the best method of communication.
