Buddy's Story

Meet Buddy

Buddy is a sweet and social three-year-old American Staffordshire blend with a handsome brown and white coat who is thriving in his Texas foster home while he waits for his forever family. At just three years old, he has the perfect mix of playful energy and gentle companionship. He greets people warmly with a loose body and wagging tail, loves his treats and takes them politely from your hand, and is easy to leash and walk. His foster has also noticed that he seems to be potty trained, which makes him even easier to welcome into a home. Buddy enjoys playtime and one-on-one affection, and while he has a curious, adventurous nature, he is also a soft-hearted boy who loves to relax and cuddle once the day winds down.

Buddy still has that fun, puppy-like spirit but is old enough to have good manners, making him a wonderful balance of energy and maturity. He is looking for a family who will embrace his playful side, encourage his curiosity, and also provide a cozy spot where he can rest at the end of the day.

Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue, and the adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep’s Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview and meet and greet occur by video call, whether on Skype, Messenger, or FaceTime. The adoption fee is $300 plus the cost of a health certificate and transport if you are out of state, which varies by location. This fee covers all current vaccinations, deworming, a microchip (with a $12.99 registration fee required at the time of adoption), spay or neuter, a heartworm test for dogs over six months, and up-to-date flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed, and a USDA health certificate issued by a veterinarian before transport.

If you think Buddy might be the missing piece of your family, apply at pepspalsrescue.org/adopt.
