It takes a special kind of person to adopted and care for a rescued dog.  Many times dogs come into the rescue with excess baggage, many of them don't.  Some have been abused others neglected and sometimes both.  Taking in a rescue you have to be aware of a few things.  It may take them a bit of time before they adjust to their new home.  You must remember that they need to learn how to trust and know what love is. Sometimes for the very first time.  The main backbone of dog rescue are the foster parents.  These people take these dogs into their home and make them part of a family. Working with them to make them more adoptable and help them to adjust to their new lives.   Fosters are able to tell you almost everything about the dog you are interested.
