* Neutered * Microchipped * Current on Vaccinations * 4DX tested for Tick-Borne Illnesses * Heartworm Negative * Given monthly Heartworm/Flea/Tick Preventative. ______________________________ THE APPLICATION PROCESS: We require the following to help ensure the best forever match between the dogs & adopters. 1. Complete & submit the adoption application. https://sparpets.org/adoptionapplication/ 2. A SPAR Rep reviews the application. 3. A phone interview with the applicant(s) is scheduled & conducted by a SPAR Rep. 4. SPAR adoption policies, expectations, & guarantees are explained. 5. A meet & greet with the SPAR dog & the all of the applicant’s family members that live in the home. 6. Compatibility assessment completed to ensure the applicant's family pets & the SPAR dog get along. 7. Home visit conducted prior to every adoption. 8. A sleepover trial period is often helpful. The SPAR dog stays with the family for a short, predetermined time period to better evaluate the pairing. 9. Two day waiting period prior to the adoption may be necessary to give the applicant and the rescue time to decide if it’s a good fit. 10. Any additional paperwork is exchanged and the adoption contract must be signed 11. Adoption fee collected 12. Adoption finalized and the pet is turned over to their new- forever- family!! ___________________________________ SPAR ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: • A dog-tight fenced yard • SPAR Dogs must reside indoors. We expect that they live as part of the family in the home. • We expect that they receive regular vet care to include annual vet check and vaccinations. Our current maximum adoption fee is $250. • The adoption fee includes many things that total much greater than $250. All SPAR dogs are spayed or neutered, receive all vaccinations (rabies, distemper, etc.), tested for heartworms using a 4DX test, provided with heartworm prevention, • To help us ensure the best forever-match between our rescues and adopters, we require the following: - Complete & submit an adoption application found here, on Petfinder. - Compatibility testing is done by SPAR to ensure the interested adopter's pets get along with our rescue. - Home visits are conducted prior to every adoption.
