Buddie's Story

A just a year and a half old, Buddi is a handsome Retriever mix who's ready to leave his past behind and find the active, patient family he's been waiting for.
Before coming to us, Buddi spent far too much of his young life on a tie-out. Despite that, he has so much potential and is eager to learn what life as a beloved family companion is all about.

Buddi already knows some basic commands and does very well on a leash, making walks enjoyable for both him and his handler. Like many young dogs, he still needs some work on his manners, but he's receptive to guidance and will flourish with consistency, training, and positive reinforcement.

If you're looking for a walking, hiking, or running buddy, Buddi may be your perfect match. He has the energy and enthusiasm to keep up and would love a family that enjoys spending time outdoors.

Buddi absolutely loves people and enjoys soaking up attention whenever he can. He also doesn't seem to mind other dogs and has done well around them. Cats, however, are another story. They're simply a little too interesting for Buddi, and his instinct is to chase, so he will need a home without feline friends.

As for children, we simply don't know yet. Buddi hasn't had enough experience around kids for us to confidently say how he would do, so any introductions should be thoughtful and supervised.

Buddi isn't looking for perfection—he's looking for patience. He needs a family willing to invest the time to continue his training, build his confidence, and show him what a stable, loving home feels like. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion who is ready for every adventure by your side.
If you're ready to help a deserving young dog reach his full potential, Buddi is ready to meet you.

As he had not received any vetting upon leaving CCHS the first time, he has to finish out his 14-day quarantine, but his applications are being accepted.

If you rent, please supply your landlord's information as we cannot adopt until we speak to them directly or have something in writing approving the animal(s) allowed. If you are interested in us matching you with a forever pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire below for us to know a little bit more about you! Please keep in mind we do require vet checks and meet and greets with other dogs in the home. It normally takes 30 + minutes for the adoption process.
