Bud's Story
**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. For adoption information go to: www.homewardbounddogrescue.com. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics.

If I were a painter, I’d absolutely paint this handsome boy in charcoal — because his coat is just that stunning 🖤🎨

Meet Bud! This 13-week-old Lab Retriever / Pitbull Terrier mix is as adorable as they come. With his perfect charcoal coloring and those unforgettable eyes, he’s truly something special.

Bud has a beautiful balance of calm and playful energy. He’s curious, eager to explore, and always ready to run outside to go explore and play more — but he also has that laid-back, gentle vibe that makes him such a joy to be around.
He’s already off to a great start too!

Bud is doing well in his crate and learning his potty routine like a champ — all wonderful signs of a smart and adaptable pup.

Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
