Bucky ***No Adoption Fee Through March***'s Story

Hi, I’m Bucky!

I’m a 2-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier who came to the shelter as a stray on October 15, 2025. No one ever came to claim me, so now I’m ready to find a home that’s truly mine.

The good stuff first: I’m neutered, microchipped, and up to date on my rabies vaccine, so there are no geographic adoption restrictions. Anyone is eligible to adopt me.

I’m a happy, energetic, goofy young guy. I LOVE toys and can entertain myself for a long time. I’m housebroken, not food aggressive, don’t tear things up when left alone, and I have great recall off-leash. I come when called. Once I’m on a routine, I do really well.

I spent time in a foster home with a pack of other dogs and learned a lot. I can live with other dogs. What we’ve learned is that I’m still a youngster who’s figuring things out. I’m very happy-go-lucky, and sometimes I get a little too excited and end up in another dog’s personal bubble. I don’t always read boundaries right away, especially if I’m feeling playful.

That means I’d do best with:
• The right adult dog who is confident and fair with corrections
• Or as the only dog with an owner who will play with me and keep me engaged

I’m not a “problem” dog. I’m a young, energetic dog who needs the right match and clear structure. When I have that, I shine.

The shelter environment stresses me out a bit, and I don’t always show my best self here. In a home, I settle in and bond quickly. I love people and truly want to be part of the family.

If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, affectionate companion who will keep you laughing and stay by your side, I might be your guy. I just need someone who understands that young dogs are still learning.

Come meet me and see if we’re the right fit for each other.
