Buckwheat’s loyalty will melt your heart. This sweet boy is desperately seeking his own human to give 100% of his loyalty and all of the puppy love he can muster. <br/><br/>His story: Buckwheat was likely a street pup. He was found laying on the side of the road laying on a blanket and a makeshift bandage on his elbow. After having been hit by a vehicle and left there on the side of the road. He was taken to the emergency vet where it was determined he suffered from a fractured hip and his spine had detached from the pelvis as well as road rash that he still has scars from. It was a decision for us to make, euthanasia or keep him idle for a month and see if it heals on its own since it was a hip injury, it wasn’t fixable via surgery. He was given various medications around the clock to relieve pain including some drops for his cloudy eye but unfortunately his sight did not recover due to ehrlichia. He was unable to walk for that long month.<br/>Sure enough within a month, his pelvis and spine had fused and he was standing on his own. His eye was removed and he was sterilized at that time. He’s recovered amazingly and can certainly hold his own during play time! If anyone deserves another shot, It’s this guy!<br/><br/>About us<br/><br/>We adopt our dogs to loving homes locally in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, as well as in Canada and the United States. Once adopted, the dog is flown to their new home (nearest airport) with the help of a volunteer flight angel.<br/><br/>Please note that the adoption fee covers the dog's travel expenses, including flight costs, health certificates, flea and tick treatment, and kennel fees.<br/><br/><br/><br/>Our Home Rescue<br/><br/>We are an independent rescue operating out of our home in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. We do what we can to help control the overpopulation of dogs and cats in our community. In addition to rescuing animals, when we're at full capacity, we also carry out trap-neuter/spay-release efforts.
