Bruno's Story

Are You Ready to Give a Smart Pup the Fresh Start He Desperately Needs?

Hi, I'm Bruno, and I'm going to be straight with you-I need help. I'm 8 months old now, and while I should be a confident, playful young dog, the truth is I'm still playing catch-up on what being a dog is supposed to be like.

I came to the shelter as a stray from Chicago Animal Control when I was younger, and I think I spent my early months in a really small space without much exposure to, well, anything. The world is big and sometimes overwhelming, and I'm still figuring out how to navigate it all.

But here's what you need to know: I am SO smart and SO eager to learn. I already know "sit" and "touch," and when I figure out what you're asking me to do? The joy I feel is incredible. Making you happy makes me happy. I live for those moments when I get it right and you're proud of me.

What I need is someone who understands that I'm not your typical 8-month-old pup. I need a lot of training-like, a lot. I'm still learning how to play, how to explore, how to be confident. Basic puppy stuff that most dogs my age have down? I'm still working on it. I need structure, patience, consistency, and someone who won't give up on me when progress feels slow.

I need a fresh start with a family who's committed to helping me become the dog I'm meant to be. Someone who's home enough to work with me daily. Someone who sees my potential and is willing to invest the time and energy to bring it out. I'm not a "just add water" kind of dog-I'm a project, and I know that's asking a lot.

But I promise you this: I want to learn. I want to be good. I want to make you proud. I'm young enough that with the right guidance, I can still become an amazing companion. I just need someone to believe in me and give me the chance I never had.
So here's my question: Can you be that person for me? Can you give me the training, the structure, the patience, and the fresh start I desperately need?
Because I'm ready to leave my past behind and finally learn what it means to be loved.

-Bruno
