This 160-pound sweetheart is happiest when he’s close to his people, soaking up attention, and making sure he always knows where everyone is in the house. If there’s a hand available for pets, he’ll happily give it a nudge to remind you that he’s ready for some love!<br/>Personality & Energy <br/>Bruno has a moderate energy level and a wonderful off switch. He’s happy to enjoy a leisurely walk, then call it a day and relax at home. A backyard is plenty to keep him content! When he gets excited, his personality really shines. He’s quite the talker, carrying on conversations with a combination of barks and moans. And those excited 160-pound hops outside? They’re pretty hilarious!<br/>He absolutely adores attention from adults and has been described by his veterinarian as well-socialized. He has happily greeted people at an outdoor gathering, welcomed pets from strangers, and paid little attention to workers in the backyard. He’s a friendly, loving companion who simply wants to be included.<br/>What Makes Bruno Special? <br/>Housebroken and crate-trained<br/>Rides well in the car<br/>Walks nicely on a leash<br/>Moderate energy with a great ability to settle<br/>Extremely affectionate and people-oriented<br/>Generally calm around other animals, including through fences and at the vet<br/>Sensitive and eager for gentle, patient handling<br/>Bruno can be a little anxious at times, but some reassurance and affection help him settle. He is very sensitive to correction, so a home that uses patience, kindness, and positive reinforcement will help him thrive.<br/>His Ideal Home <br/>Bruno would likely do best in a home with older children, ideally ages 8 and up, who understand how to interact respectfully with a large dog and can give him the attention he craves. He has been tolerant of a toddler, but he doesn’t seem especially comfortable or engaged with little ones. There has also been one reported nipping incident during roughhousing involving a child, so careful management and appropriate supervision are important.<br/>Bruno has not yet had direct interactions with other dogs or animals in his foster home. Although he seems unbothered by animals he sees at the vet or through fences, compatibility with other dogs would need to be assessed through careful introductions. His feelings about cats are currently unknown.<br/>A Note About His Health <br/>Bruno’s skin and coat are still healing, but they have improved significantly with care. He would also benefit from a dental cleaning, ideally coordinated with his neuter procedure if medically appropriate.<br/>Could Bruno Be Your Forever Friend? <br/>Bruno is the kind of dog who makes a house feel warmer simply by being in it. He doesn’t need endless adventures or a packed schedule.
