BRUEGGER's Story

Meet Bruegger

At just 11 months old, Bruegger has already been through more than any puppy ever should. He was brought into Macomb County Animal Control after it was suspected he had been hit by a car. Scared, injured, and in pain, this sweet boy arrived with a healing pelvic fracture and wounds to his head.

Despite everything he’s endured, Bruegger continues to show us just how resilient and loving he truly is.

Day by day, he’s making incredible strides and healing nicely, but he still has a road ahead of him. Bruegger will need continued cage rest for the next few weeks while his little body finishes healing. What he needs most right now is a calm, loving foster or foster-to-adopt home where he can safely recover and finally learn what it feels like to be cared for.

Because of his injuries, Bruegger will need only short walks and limited yard time for now. He would do best as the only dog in the home so he can focus on healing without the temptation of roughhousing or overplaying. We recommend children in the home be age 5 and older. He has never lived with cats, and he’s still working on potty training.

Through it all, Bruegger remains gentle, sweet, and deserving of a second chance. He didn’t deserve the pain he’s experienced, but we know there’s someone out there willing to help him heal — not just physically, but emotionally too.

Could you be the safe place Bruegger has been waiting for? If you are interested in meeting Bruegger, Macomb County Animal Control is open M-F from 10am-4pm. Adoption fee is Sponsored!
