Bruce in IA's Story
The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.
Phone interviews do not take place til after an approved application is on file and we have a possible match for your home

My name is Bruce. I am a 3.5 year old Boston Terrier, weighing 27 lbs. I was relinquished from a breeder and being fostered in Des Moines, Iowa!

I’ve been with my foster family for a few weeks and I’m settling in more every day! I’m discovering how fun toys, balls, and backyard playtime can be. I’m still learning what’s mine to chew on, so I’ll do best with a family who can continue guiding me as I build good habits.

I’m crate trained and stay in my crate when my family isn’t home, but I much prefer snuggling in bed with my humans and foster siblings at night! Since my foster parents work from home, I’d love a forever home where someone is around most of the time—I’m very people-oriented and happiest with company.

When I first arrived, I was a little unsure of people, but with the help of my foster dog siblings, I’ve really come out of my shell. Now I happily take treats and have fully embraced being a lap dog. If you’re looking for a cuddly companion, I’m your guy!

I currently live with three other dogs and love having them around, so I’d do best in a home with a canine friend to help me continue building confidence. I’m still learning the basics, but I’m very treat-motivated and pick things up quickly!

I’m happiest relaxing on the couch or being close to my humans and dog friends.

Here's a little more about me:
Housetrained? In progress (doing great and loves the backyard!)
Leash-trained? In progress
Rides well in car? Yes
Good with other dogs? Yes and would love a friend in my new home
Good with cats? Not yet tested
Good with young children? Would do best with older children
Good with strangers? Friendly after a short warm-up
Shy or confident? Shy at first but quickly warms up, especially if treats are involved
Barks? No
Apartment qualified? No - Still nervous about a leash, so would need a fenced in yard
Any Special needs or Health Issues? None
Adoption Fee? $450

The adoption process starts with an Online Adoption Application you can find at ''https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application.

All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.

MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing.

MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.

If you are Interested in Adoption please complete our online adoption application at 'https://www.adoptaboston.com/adoption-application

Petfinder's form is NOT our application. We will respond back to you within 72 hours of receiving your application.

Interested in Donating visit https://www.adoptaboston.com/donate
