****We are Pets Are Worth Saving (P.A.W.S) – Stephenville, TX - We are a small, foster based animal rescue, 501(c)3 non-profit organization, based out of Stephenville, TX. We work to rehabilitate and rehome unwanted cats and dogs in Stephenville and surrounding towns. We have recently expanded our scope to include Hamilton County, TX and are currently working with the City of Hamilton and the Hico Police Department to find loving foster and permanent homes for dogs that have been abandoned and have ended up in the Hamilton Pound or the Hico Animal Shelter. <br/> Pets Are Worth Saving (P.A.W.S.)’s mission is to sponsor low cost spay/neuter and wellness exams, provide community education and provide food and supplies to those in need. We also do our best to find loving homes for abandoned, neglected, or abused animals. Our animals are vaccinated and on preventatives. Need an excuse to go for a walk? Perhaps, Bruce is the dog for you? <br/><br/>Meet Bruce!<br/><br/>Bruce is an ~1 year old, 60 lbs., neutered male Pit Bull mix. Yeah, he's big. Yeah, he stares, but he's such a sweetheart. Poor Bruce, and two other dogs, found themselves homeless after their owner was incarcerated. They were picked up by the Hamilton, TX Animal Control Officer and currently reside in the Hamilton Pound. Bruce doesn't deserve to be there. <br/><br/>He's a great dog, who listens well, walks great on leash, loves to go for car rides and seems to like everyone he meets. Alas, Bruce is confined to a shelter where he gets very little human interaction, can't go outside unless someone takes him, and he's not happy about it. So, he's at risk of hurting himself trying to get out.<br/><br/>Bruce has gotten along well with all the dogs he's interacted with. However, we always recommend slow, proper introductions to any new dog. Bruce is likely house trained. We don't know how he is with cats or livestock. He'll likely do well with older children. He's big and young so may not be safe around small ones. We truly believe he's just a big love, who's looking to put the past behind him, and start his life anew in a home where he is loved and cared for.<br/><br/>Bruce is up to date on vaccines, rabies, Bordatella, and is heartworm negative. He's on preventatives for fleas/ticks/heartworms. In other words, Bruce is good to go. He just needs a loving home to go to.
