Bruce 3963's Story

Meet Bruce, a handsome Rottweiler mix approximately 2 to 3 years old. Bruce's journey hasn't been easy—he was rescued from a hoarding situation alongside several other dogs, many of whom lacked proper food, water, shelter, and human interaction. As a result, Bruce can be a bit barrier-reactive at the door, often displaying initial wariness by barking or pulling back, and sometimes choosing to run the other way when approached.

However, once he's outside of his kennel and in a more open space, Bruce truly begins to shine. He lightens up and shows his playful, affectionate side during playtime. While he may experience some kennel anxiety—something not uncommon for dogs in unfamiliar environments—Bruce responds well when you lower yourself to his level and avoid cornering him.

Bruce thrives in the company of another dog and tends to do best with a canine companion by his side. He may require multiple meetings to feel comfortable and should meet all members of the household, including any other pets, to ensure a good fit. Patience and understanding are key when building trust with Bruce, as he needs someone willing to invest time in helping him feel safe and secure in his new home.

If you believe you can provide Bruce with the love, patience, and stability he needs, please call 602-876-1212 to set up a meet and greet. Bruce is ready to find a caring family to help him continue his journey toward confidence and happiness.

Call M.A.S.H. at 602-876-1212 if interested in a particular animal to find out additional information and to schedule an appointment any day of the week from 8am to 1:30pm. We require a meet and greet at our facility, especially for potential adopters that have children and if there will be another dog in the home to do a dog intro to check compatibility. If residing in an apartment or rental home, a proof from the property or property manager allowing pets must be presented as part of the adoption process.
