BRUCE's Story
BRUCE is unlike any dog I have ever had - he is 100% HILARIOUS. <br/>Bruce is a Bulldog, probably born in 2020. He was transferred from a shelter in Texas where he was absolutely pitiful - underweight, balding and had no use of his hind end. I was prepared to do so much rehabilitation and praying to get him well, but MIRACULOUSLY within days of being here he was able to walk again. He adores people - nobody is a stranger to him - super affectionate!! He loves and tolerates other dogs very well. He has also made friends with the resident feral cat. Bruce is now at a shiny 50 pounds of compact, stubborn, sweet, funny, goofy, adorable boy. He loves to walk, but going his way at his pace. He is super responsive to instructions - such as "come here!" Most dogs who lose their mobility end up incontinent, but Bruce is in control of his pottying. That being said, once or twice a day I give him a little bladder expression squeeze to help make sure he fully empties his bladder to prevent possible infections. (This is easy peasy, and I also give him the same cranberry supplement I give to all my other wheelchair dogs for the same reason). Bruce loves chairs, couches and beds. BUT Bruce will chew up a couch if left unsupervised, SO if left alone, he would need to be crated. Also, though he has regained his ability to stand, walk, and even run, Bruce is not doing stairs (yet). Whoever is lucky enough to choose Bruce will laugh and smile so much every single day. If you are interested in possibly adopting this sweetheart, please contact Bev at trampsrescue@yahoo.com or TEXTING (804) 248-3042. You could also call and leave a message. Thank you for your interest in adopting a precious deserving dog.
