Bruce's Story

Bruce is a gorgeous, boisterous young boy who weighs in just over 100lbs. He is extremely playful and silly, often throwing his toys up the air and entertaining himself to no end. He also loves to play in the kiddie pool. Could he be a swimmer in the future?!

When he's not playing, Bruce is a total baby. He thinks he's a lap dog and will plop himself in your lap for snuggles. He constantly leans against your legs for attention and really loves affection from his people. Sometimes, Bruce can be wary of new people at first, so he should be introduced slowly/properly. When he gets excited, he will sometimes jump, but is easily redirected with a toy, treat, or command. He is very smart, but would benefit from some training to refine his manners. Due to his size and somewhat puppy-like energy at times, we think a home without young kids would be best.

Bruce has done well with some dogs and not so well with others. We think his ideal home would not have another dog, but could do a meet-and-greet with any dogs in his potential home. No cats, please!

He loves car rides, going for walks/exploring, and appears to be crate-trained.

Bruce is estimated to be 1-1.5 years old. He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines.

**Located in Rhode Island. Local adoptions only.**

Please contact staff at (401) 294-2754 or email animalshelter@exeterri.gov for more information on our adoption process. Please do NOT apply through Petfinder.
