Brownie's Story

Meet Brownie, 1/2 German Shepherd, and 1/2 Rottweiler, she is sure to turn heads wherever she goes! She came to us as an owner surrender where she was very, very loved and was only surrendered due to dire circumstances. Brownie knows lots of commands: sit, lay down, shake and wait..and even knows the Spanish word “besso” for kiss! She turned 4 in October and is spayed and up to date on all of her vaccinations.

Brownie is pretty much the perfect dog and is house trained and can be trusted to be left out when at home alone. She has the nickname “nosy Rosie” as she likes to get that big snout of hers into everything and as she is quite tall there is not much that she can’t reach! Brownie can be quite shy at first but warms up fast as she also knows nothing about privacy and is going to follow you into EVERY room in the house. But she will make you laugh with her silly antics as she is quite comical.

Brownie loves babies and will happily lick them all over but gets nervous with kids who hang on her or are overly in her face. She has been with kids as young as 5 months to 9 years of age and has been great but definitely gets more nervous when there is a lot of screaming and yelling going on. She enjoyed seeing all the kids visit her foster home over Christmas but was happy when everyone left and it was quiet again.

Brownie gets along with all dogs, big and small but is really looking for a sister if she could choose. She gets along fine with her foster brothers but really misses the sister she grew up with and seeks out females to play with when she is with other dogs. Brownie can be a bit of a picky eater but she does not have any food aggression and wants to share her toys. She LOVES her walks every day as that is what she had in her previous life and we have been working on her leash walking and that is much better. She does have a prey drive and has been known to chase deer and absolutely wants those little bunnies and squirrels so a fenced in yard is a must.

Brownie says she is sure that there is some nice, recently retired couple out there who are now home. Maybe with some grandkids and a grand-pup who visit but don’t live there full time! A couple who want a dog to keep them company, who is the perfect combination of snuggle bug, semi-watch dog, car rider extraordinaire, face washer, marriage counselor and fitness coach!
Brownie is ready for your couch!

Brownie's adoption fee is $400! This adoption fee includes: her alter, a microchip, his rabies, bordetella, and age appropriate DAPP vaccines, flea/heartworm preventative, and a deworming treatment while in foster care.

If you think she may be perfect for you, please apply using the link below!

https://www.cognitoforms.com/NorthPawRescue/NorthPawRescueDogAdoptionApplication

**Unfortunately, we cannot adopt out to Canada at this time.

**We require a 60 minute adoption radius. This dog is currently being fostered in Penfield, NY.
