Brownie's Story
Brownie is an 8-month-old mixed-breed pup (born in early November) who was rescued from Northern Manitoba and is now searching for a loving forever home. Currently weighing about 45 pounds, Brownie is still growing into the handsome boy he's meant to be!

Brownie is a happy, affectionate, and intelligent young dog who loves being around people. He enjoys snuggling with his humans just as much as he enjoys playing, and his playful energy comes in fun bursts throughout the day. He's also a quick learner and picks up new routines and skills with ease.

Brownie gets along wonderfully with the dogs in his foster home and would love a canine companion to play with in his forever home. While he can be a little intimidated by dominant dogs, he is friendly and usually just wants to play.

He is currently being fostered with cats. Brownie is very interested in them and wants to chase and play, so he must be directly supervised around cats. Because of his prey drive and the stress it will cause smaller animals to be chased, we do not recommend a home with cats or other small animals such as rabbits, birds, or other pocket pets.

Brownie is both house-trained and crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car, and isn't much of a barker. He has also shown no signs of resource guarding around other dogs.

This smart boy thrives with a couple of walks each day and plenty of mental enrichment to keep his busy mind engaged. While he certainly enjoys getting outside, Brownie is much more of a "stop and smell the roses" kind of walking companion than a jogging partner. He loves taking his time to sniff every interesting scent along the way.

A fenced yard would be a dream for Brownie, giving him space to run, explore, smiff, and burn off some of his playful puppy energy.

Like many puppies, Brownie is still learning appropriate play manners. He likes to gently mouth your arm during playtime but does not bite or nip. Because of this puppy behavior, we think he would be best suited to a home with older children who can help reinforce good manners.

Brownie also has a funny little habit of carrying shoes around the house. He occasionally gives them a chew, though so far he hasn't caused any damage!

His beautiful coat is one of his best features, but it does require commitment. Brownie will need daily brushing and regular professional grooming to keep his coat healthy and mat-free. His foster family has been working to brush out a few mats and get him looking his best.

Brownie is looking for a family that will continue his training, give him plenty of love, and include him in their everyday adventures. In return, he'll reward you with endless affection, loyal companionship, and plenty of smiles.

If you're looking for a sweet, smart, playful young dog with lots of love to give, Brownie could be your perfect match! Because Brownie is an unknown mixed breed, we can't know exactly how big he'll be when he's a fully grown adult, but we expect he'll mature into a medium to large-sized dog, likely 55-70 pounds when fully gown.

Meet and Greets will be held in the Hamilton, Ontario region. His adoption fee is $900 which includes up to date vetting, microchip & he has been neutered.

If you are interested in learning more about Brownie, send us a message or fill out the application form below:

https://form.jotform.com/201853389773265
